Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Range

Wednesday 17 September 2014

For the past few months, my skin has really been playing up. Up until recently, I hadn't had any problems with my skin since I was in my mid teens but now I seem to be suffering with a perma-breakout. Sometimes my skin looks alright, other times it looks quite bad.
Ever on the hunt for those miracle products, I decided to take it back to basics and grab a few products from the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel range by Boots as they were on 3 for 2. I used to use the Cleansing and Toning Lotion years ago so I knew it was worth a repurchase but the Night Treatment Gel had great reviews and I'm not one to pass up a face mask, so into the basket went these three.
I've been using them a couple of weeks now, the Cleansing & Toning Lotion both morning and evening as my main makeup remover followed by the Night Treatment Gel in conjunction with my Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Gel and interspersing a face mask in a couple of times a week.
I've noticed a definite improvement in my skin since I started using these products, most of the spots on my cheeks have cleared up but I do still struggle with them a little around my chin and jaw, although they have vastly improved.  The Cleansing and Toning Lotion does a great job of removing makeup and making my skin feel cleansed after use and the Night Treatment Gel has a smooth, cooling consistency that dries pretty quickly and you don't need to apply much to cover your face.
The Boots Charcoal Face Mask is quite different in consistency to the Origins Charcoal mask, it had a much more runny consistency and dried to a smooth finish without tightening my skin. I personally prefer the Origins one as it feels like it's actually doing something and my skin feels thoroughly cleansed afterwards whereas the Boots mask didn't really make my skin feel any different, nor have I noticed an improvement. I did pick it up as my freebie so I'm not too fussed and at only £3.59, it is a decent budget charcoal mask but not one I would pick as my first choice.
Overall, if you're looking for a budget skincare routine I would say that the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel range is a pretty good option, I think all the items are under £4.00 and they do a day moisturiser, face scrub and a few other items in the range that look worth a try too.

  1. Intrigued by the night treatment gel! Do you use it as a moisturiser or just on problem areas...? x

  2. I like the Body Shop tea tree range but I'll be sure to check that one, next time I'm in Boots.
