After a long time browsing around the site, I decided upon some Bourjois and Rimmel products as they were on buy one get one half price and never one to turn down saving some money on cosmetics and the bonus of free delivery, I hastily entered my card details and awaited their arrival.
The first of those products I'm going to share with you is Rimmel's Lasting Finish lipstick from the Kate range in Shade 16. I do wish they had actual names as numbers are so boring!
I've only ever owned one Rimmel lipstick previously called Vintage Pink and I gave that to my sister as I didn't really feel the colour suited me all that well.
Shade 16 is a beautiful coral pink shade that isn't too bright for every day wear. It reminds me of a more muted version of Dainty Doll's It's My Party.
The formula is creamy and smooth and doesn't tug on your lips when applied. It goes on fairly similar to a lip balm with minimal gloss but not what I'd call matte. I found that the wear time is around 2-3 hours and after eating and drinking it leaves a stain on my lips but I do prefer to reapply as it just looks a bit faded.
Although this was released as part of the spring collection, I can see myself wearing it throughout the colder months anyway as I find it hard to pull off a range of shades and plummy tones don't suit me all that well in my opinion. However, I am trying to experiment a little more out of my comfort zone with a range of shades, so we shall see, I may surprise myself!
Overall I'm really pleased with this as for £5.49 you get decent pigmentation in a couple of swipes and it lasts reasonably well for a lipstick, not that I ever mind reapplying them anyway! I always worry when I wear a brighter colour that's longer lasting that it's somehow smeared all over my face haha.
What do you think of this shade? Do you own any Rimmel lipsticks or have any recommendations?
