The Smokey Purple Look

Wednesday 28 August 2013

Today I thought I'd share with you a look that I'm currently loving; it's not too dramatic for day wear but I think it could work quite nicely for an evening out too.

I started off by applying my Bourjois Healthy Mix all over my face followed by a quick dab of MAC's Mineralize Concealer underneath my eyes and then an illuminating Bourjois Brush Concealer to help combat dark circles. Then I move onto my eyebrows using my HD Brow Palette to fill in any gaps and apply eye shadow primer to help my eye shadow stay put all day.

I applied Prestige eye shadow in Opal as my base and then applied Satin Taupe to the outer corner and crease of my eye followed by a tiny dab of the black shade from my HD Brows to make it a little darker, that stuff is lethal if you apply too much! Lastly for the eye shadow, a little bit of Nylon in the inner corner of my eyes to brighten them up a little. Next, I lined my eyes with Benefit's Bad Gal Waterproof eye liner and finished off with my new favourite mascara - Max Factor's 2000 Calorie. Why have I not tried this before now, it's AMAZING!

Onto my cheeks, I kept it simple with just a hint of Stila's Color Convertible in Rose buffed in with my stippling brush and finally to finish it all off, a quick slick of Creme d'Nude on my lips and I was good to go.

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it more for day or evening?

  2. Purple really suits you, you look lovely! Is the healthy mix foundation worth buying? I have quite oily skin so tend to need a lot of coverage! Crème d'Nude looks really nice too, so natural but pretty!

    1. Aw, thank you! I'd say if you want decent coverage to avoid it, my skin verges on dry and it works well but it only provides a light coverage! x
