Maybelline Brow Drama | Review

Friday, 11 October 2013

I have read mixed reviews about this product but decided to pick it up anyway as it buy one get one half price on Maybelline and I wanted another Colour Tattoo, so for £2.50 into my basket it went. I picked the shade "Dark Blond" as my brows are fairly light anyway before I've fiddled with them and I just wanted to keep it as natural as possible.

It's basically a tinted brow gel/mascara that you use to keep your eyebrows in place. Mine always seem to be messing up during the day, especially when clothes shopping and pulling things over my head, I tend to end up looking like a demented wolverine. It's not a new or original product but despite that, I don't own anything similar apart from a clear MUA mascara which does my brows no favours.

I really like the shape of the wand, my eyebrows aren't too thin so there is no overspill of product onto my skin. I apply it after I've filled my brows in with my HD palette and it glides easily through all of the hairs, setting them in place. I don't find that it looks sticky/stiff or obvious that I'm wearing it. I haven't tried it alone as my brows are quite sparse and the tint isn't particularly strong, so if you're looking for a strong tint rather than using a pencil or powder, I wouldn't recommend it.

It lasts all day for me and I don't have any problems with it turning white like I'd read a few times and it comes off easily at night using my L'Oreal Micellar Solution leaving no sticky residue. I'm definitely pleased I picked it up, as I just feel it finishes my eyebrows off and makes them look a little bit neater and more put together.

It can be found at Boots or Superdrug and retails at £4.99 and comes in the shades Dark Blond, Medium Brown and Dark Brown. I'd heard some complaints about the fact it doesn't come in black but I reckon Dark Brown might work.
