I've been meaning to do a proper review on this foundation for ages. I've never been a huge foundation hoarder, I first started experimenting with foundation when I was about 15 and bought myself one from L'Oreal. I didn't really know how to apply it properly though and it ended up looking cakey on me so I reverted to Clinique's Almost Powder foundation for a few years.
Then I started reading beauty blogs and heard all the raving about Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation. I decided to try it out early last year and have been converted ever since. When I ran out of the foundation I purchased the serum and loved it even more.
The first thing that appeals to me about this foundation is the packaging. I love the fact that it has a pump to dispense the product as it is so messy trying to pour out the right amount of foundation from a bottle, I always end up with too much and having to waste it.
I also love the fact that it has a fragrance. It smells quite fruity and peachy as you apply it to your face but that smell soon fades away if you're not a fan of scented products.
I have applied this using just my fingers to blend it in and also my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I find both ways work well but I end up with slightly heavier coverage if I use the brush rather than my fingers.
At the moment, I'm currently mixing it with my MAC Strobe Cream to give an even dewier finish and applying it with the Stippling Brush.
The coverage is sheer to moderate which is perfect for me as I just want something that will even out my complexion rather than give me a high amount of coverage. I find if I'm having a breakout this foundation doesn't do much to mask any blemishes and I do have to layer on the concealer but that doesn't bother me too much.
I've used it both in winter when my skin is dry and in summer when it's 'normal'. I don't find that it clings to any dry patches or that it slides off my face when the temperature rises.
I'm not sure how well this would work for oilier skin, as it gives a slightly dewy finish it may highlight any shiny patches but feel free to correct me if you have oily skin and this works for you!
Overall, I could not recommend this foundation any more, it blends into my skin beautifully and leaves me with a natural looking, even complexion.
This foundation is amazing! Apparently this or the other healthy mix serum has been compared to the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua! Heard that they're both owned by the same family...? xx

Oooh really? That's a bonus :) I had heard that some people said that the Bourjois bronzing primer is quite similar to the Soleil Tan De Chanel... loving Bourjois at the moment :-) xx
DeleteI use the foundation of this but have never tried the serum! It sounds so good though, maybe I should try it when my other one runs out.

Yeah you definitely should! I did that and just love the serum although I'd happily use the foundation again too :) xx
DeleteI use this, and I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan of all Bourjois products actually.
