Review | Garnier Moisture Match - Protect & Glow

Saturday, 15 June 2013

What's that? A review? Yes, that's right! Finally I've managed to grab some time to sit down and take a couple of snaps and get back on my little blog to give my opinion on yet another beauty product.

I've been using my Korres moisturiser since Christmas time now and I initially bought it because I was suffering from some seriously dry skin brought on by a mixture of pregnancy and the cold weather.
Since about March, my skin has been picking up and with the warmer weather, it started to improve back to it's original state so that I no longer really deem my skin 'dry'.

I have been looking around for a new moisturiser for a while and when I was round at my parents, I noticed my sister had a new one - Garnier Moisture Match  "Wake Me Up" for Dull Skin. I asked her if I could give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Although this isn't exactly what I was looking for, I knew that the Moisture Match range had a match for every skin type so I thought I'd hunt one down that met all my requirements.

When I was browsing Superdrug, I noticed that the range was on offer for £3.99 rather than it's usual price so I decided that it was now the time to buy my new moisturiser. Fortunately they had samples so I could check them all out. I couldn't decide between "Protect & Glow" and "Start Afresh" until I noticed that "Protect & Glow" had SPF 20. Bonus! I'd been checking out SPF moisturisers but couldn't find one that was less than £15.

I really like the fact the packaging is so convenient to store and also for usage. I find dipping my fingers into a pot quite messy and somehow it always ends up with annoying hairs and bits of fluff getting in it from when I've absent mindedly forgot to put the lid back on. Pots takes up a lot of room in my makeup bag when travelling and so having a little tube that takes up a lot less space and is about 3 times lighter is a great start.

Protect & Glow has a nice creamy consistency that feels lightweight on the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving it feeling greasy in the slightest. I absolutely love the fragrance that it has, it's really clean and fresh but only lingers on the skin for a minute before fading away so you're not left sniffing your face all day if you're not a fan of that.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, especially when we had the gorgeous sunshine out the other week and I'm happy to report that my skin was not left frazzled in any way. My foundation blends seamlessly  over it and doesn't leave me with any visible dry patches.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this moisturiser and I love that the range caters for all skin types so that if my skin switches up again when the seasons change or just because it feels like it, I can try out another one in the range that will hopefully be just as impressive as Protect & Glow.

If you're interested in the sound of any of these then you can check out the range here for more details on each one.

Have you tried any of the range? What did you think?
