Recommended Reads #1

I have always been a huge fan of reading since I was a child, you'd rarely see me without my nose buried into a book and I used to fly through them so quick my parents had to start scouring through charity shops and second hand stores to try and keep down the cost! I sort of stopped reading as much as I used to when I found my only free time was at night and it's kind of hard to read in the dark... So I was delighted when my parents got me an e-reader for Christmas so I could read at all hours of the day. I've been reading a lot over the past few months and thought I'd compile a list of the books I've been enjoying since I got it. I tend to go for an easy read to relax with at night, standard chick lit style but I do read a variety of genres when the mood strikes. I think this will probably be a recurring feature on my blog as I read so many books and will share all the best ones on here! You Had Me At Hello- Mhairi McFarlane  I think this might quite possibly be one of my favourite books ever. I purchased it when it was first released and have read it a couple of times now. It's lighthearted and funny yet the characters are all so believable and likable. I also really liked the fact that it's set in Manchester so I could really get a feel for it and imagine all the places. Summer at the Lake - Erica James  This is sort of a romance with a twist, it centres around three characters and their lives and how they intertwine with each other. I tend to try and read books with characters I feel I can relate to but this one took me by surprise by having an 80 something year old lady as my favourite character!  You're The One That I Want - Giovanna Fletcher I read Giovanna's first novel and wasn't blown away but decided I would try her second one and was glad that I did. It's the story of three childhood friends, two boys and a girl and the relationships (romantic and unromantic) throughout. It had a different ending than I expected but it was a light, enjoyable read. Perfect for a cozy evening. The Maze Runner Series - James Dashner  I read this a while ago after learning that the main character would be played by my favourite actor on Teen Wolf haha. It's quite a tense, gripping trilogy and had me spending whole days avidly reading it whenever I had the chance to and probably worth a read before the film comes out and ruins it.
